This California Privacy Notice supplements the information in our Privacy Policy and applies solely to visitors, users, and others who reside in the State of California (“Consumers” or “You”). This notice is provided in accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA/CPRA”).

Category B — California Customer Records (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.80(e)) (Collected: Yes)
Examples: name, address, telephone number, and other contact information.
Note: We do not collect Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, passport numbers, or full payment card numbers.
Category D — Commercial Information (Collected: Yes)
Examples: records of services purchased, obtained, or considered (e.g., site visit purchase, invoices, service history).
Category F — Internet or Other Similar Network Activity (Collected: Yes)
Examples: browsing interactions with our website, pages viewed, and interactions with ads (via cookies and similar technologies).
Category H — Sensory Data (Collected: Yes)
Examples: audio recordings of calls (where recorded), and photos/videos you provide related to a job (e.g., site conditions, equipment, layouts).
Category G — Geolocation Data (Collected: No, as defined by CPRA)
We do not collect precise geolocation. We may collect address/city/ZIP you provide for scheduling and service delivery (covered under Categories A/B).
Category K — Inferences (Collected: No)
We do not create profiles about you reflecting preferences or behavior for decision-making beyond standard marketing measurement.
Sensitive Personal Information (“SPI”) (CPRA) (Collected: No)
We do not intentionally collect or use SPI as defined by CPRA (e.g., precise geolocation, government IDs, account log-in credentials, or payment card numbers). If we ever need to handle sensitive information (e.g., access instructions) it is used only as necessary to provide services you request.
3) Sources of Personal Information
We obtain personal information from the following sources:
- Directly from you: forms you complete, scheduling details, service inquiries, purchases, and communications (email/SMS/phone).
- Automatically from you: cookies and similar technologies when you navigate our website.
- From service providers: vendors supporting analytics, advertising measurement, payments, scheduling, CRM, email/communications, and call systems.
4) Purposes for Collecting and Using Personal Information
We collect and use personal information for business and commercial purposes such as:
- Providing and operating our services (e.g., scheduling, site visits, installation, troubleshooting).

In the last 12 months, we may have disclosed the categories listed above for business purposes to service providers and contractors that help us operate our business. These may include:
- Email & productivity: Google Workspace
- CRM / job management / invoicing: Zoho (FSM/Books/Invoice)
- Payments: Stripe (we do not store full card numbers)
- Analytics & advertising measurement: Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager, Google Ads conversion tracking
- Phone / call system: QUO (including call recordings, where enabled)
- Scheduling: Calendly / Google Calendar
- Field technicians / subcontractors: to perform requested services (e.g., name, phone, service address, scope details)
When we disclose personal information for business purposes, we require recipients to use it only to provide services to us and to protect it appropriately.
6) Sale or Sharing of Personal Information
Sale
We do not sell personal information as the term “sell” is defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
Sharing (Cross-Context Behavioral Advertising)
We may share certain personal information with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising (e.g., remarketing). This sharing may involve:
- Category A (Identifiers) – online identifiers and IP address
- Category F (Internet/Network Activity) – website interactions and ad conversion events
Your Right to Opt-Out of Sharing: You may opt out of sharing by:
- Using our cookie banner / preference center (where available) to disable advertising/marketing cookies; and/or
- Emailing us at Legal@blackowls-nc.com with your request.
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
Where technically feasible, we will treat GPC-enabled browser signals as a request to opt out of sharing for that browser/device.
7) Retention of Personal Information
We retain personal information up to 10 years, including inquiries and customer records, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (e.g., tax and accounting obligations), or unless you request deletion and no exception applies.
8) Your Rights Under the CCPA/CPRA
If you are a California resident, you may have the right to:
- Know/Access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected about you.
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt-Out of Sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising (and opt-out of sale, if applicable).
- Non-Discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

Verification: To protect your information, we will verify your request by matching information you provide with information in our records (for example: email, phone number, and details of your most recent request/service).
Authorized Agents: You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, subject to verification and proof of authorization.
Response Timing: We typically respond within 45 days, with one possible 45-day extension when reasonably necessary.
10) Minors
Our services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors under 16. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of minors under 16.
11) Additional Notes (Google / Nest Pro Portal)
If you access certain partner portals or programs (e.g., Google Nest Pro), information submitted through those channels may be used and shared in accordance with the applicable provider’s terms and privacy policy. Nest Pro Service Agreement
